As is always the case when approaching the end of December, we like to take time to reflect on what’s been accomplished and achieved over the past 12 months, before taking a break to relax and refresh before going again with renewed vigour in the New Year.
Spoiler alert; we’ve really enjoyed this year here at Sense:lab! Below are some of our highlights. But firstly, I’d like to thank all our clients, both new and existing, for all your incredible support, which has helped to make 2024 such a special year. Thank you!
5 key highlights in 2024:
- 2024 was the first full year of Sense:lab offering its fieldwork solutions for consumer and sensory research direct to clients in the UK. We welcomed 22 new clients, witnessed the research facility in operation for 140 days, conducted 36 CLTs & 27 HUTs, recruited 32 focus groups & 54 IHVs, and hosted 23 individual facility bookings. We were kept busy doing what we love – fieldwork! ❤️
- Our research community, Sense:buds, grew beyond 15k members. This is one of the tools that enabled us to sign-up over 14k participants to take part in fieldwork in the UK, and to assist us in conducting over 6k face-to-face interviews. Some were simple recruitment briefs. But hats off to our recruitment team for the many difficult ones; from hundreds of kitten owners testing pet food at home (the kittens, not the owners), to scores of participants with very specific curly/kinky hair types testing hair styling products at our research facility. Well done team. 👏
- The team’s hard work, passion, and commitment in delivering exceptional fieldwork received industry wide recognition at this year’s MRS Operations Awards. Not only did Sense:lab make the list of finalists for Best Viewing Facility, but we also received a Highly Commended award in the Premier Operational Excellence category. So we are naturally thrilled to be operationally excellent! 🏆
- Early in the year we opened our new Logistics Hub to provide dedicated end-to-end logistics support to our clients, with a strong emphasis on flexibility, security, and efficiency. 2024 at the Hub witnessed over 10k products either being sourced and stored, packed, de-branded, labelled, or shipped, including everything from deodorant to pet food, leg waxing cream to fabric conditioner, and much much more. 📦
- Our team has grown in more ways than one. We’ve welcomed incredible new colleagues, who are now integral parts of our fieldwork and recruitment teams, supported both of our amazing apprentices through to the end of their apprenticeships, and have all been constantly learning via our internal foundation training and accreditation schemes. 👩🎓
Everything we’ve done this year has pushed us on to achieve our vision to become the UK’s premier supplier of fieldwork solutions for consumer and sensory research. Next year we’ll keep moving forward and grow again, continuing to offer fieldwork solutions whenever you need it. Can’t wait to see you in 2025.
